Jammu: Two Pakistani terrorists, including a top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed, were killed inside a cave in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Officials said that when security forces stormed the cave in the afternoon, several loud explosions were heard.
One of the slain terrorists has been identified as Rubani alias Abu Mavia, a top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed and was active in the area for the past several years. The body of one terrorist was found at the entrance of the cave, while the body of the other was found deep inside the cave. The encounter began around 4 pm on Tuesday during a search operation in the highlands of Ramnagar-Basantgarh.
The army has named this operation, which lasted for more than 20 hours, as "Kia". According to officials, a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including an M-4 carbine and an AK rifle, have been recovered from the slain terrorists. The Army's White Knight Corps said that this operation is the result of coordination and precise strategy between the police, army and CRPF.
