Two persons from Fazilka arrested with drugs and weapons
Abohar:- Two persons from Fazilka arrested during an operation conducted on National Highway 911 were in touch with a criminal gang based in Pakistan. This was revealed in a police investigation conducted on Wednesday. According to the investigation, both these accused were directly linked to the handler 'Ahmed' sitting across the border.
The Sri Ganganagar police have arrested two suspects in a car with heroin, opium and weapons. The accused have been identified as Kulwinder Singh and Robin Singh, residents of Mahatma Nagar in Fazilka. The investigation also revealed that the order for opium was given for the first time.
Sri Ganganagar ASP Raghuveer Sharma said that intelligence information was received that two youths from Punjab had come in a car to buy drugs. Acting on this information, a blockade was set up on Salempura-Bajuwala road.
When the suspicious car came from Sameja town, it collided with ASI Vinod Kumar's Bolero. SHO Krishan Kumar immediately ordered a second roadblock to be set up on the Sameja-bound road and a tractor-trolley and a JCB machine were parked on the way. When the accused tried to escape by breaking the second roadblock, the police chased them and caught them from nearby fields. On searching the car and their bags, 1.494 kg heroin, 990 gm opium, five pistols with magazines and 74 live cartridges were recovered.
