Two buses of pilgrims left from Zirakpur under Chief Ministers Pilgrimage
Zirakpur, June 14, 2026:- Under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme being run by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, today, Derabassi MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa flagged off the buses from Ward No. 11 to 57 and Ward No. 12 to 58 of Zirakpur for the pilgrims to visit various religious and historical places of Shri Amritsar.
On this occasion, MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that the aim of the Punjab Government is to provide an opportunity to people of all classes, especially the elderly, to visit religious places, so that they can perform pilgrimage according to their faith. He said that this scheme is being highly appreciated by the people and thousands of pilgrims have taken advantage of it. The devotees will pay homage at Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Durgiana Mandir, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal in Amritsar and will also visit Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border.
He said that during this three-day and two-night journey, transportation, accommodation, food and other necessary facilities are arranged by the Punjab Government for the pilgrims, due to which even the general and economically weaker sections can visit the religious places without any financial burden.
There was great enthusiasm among the devotees when the buses were flagged off. Happiness and satisfaction were clearly visible on the faces of the elderly and other devotees going on the journey. He thanked the Punjab Government and the constituency MLA and said that this initiative is proving to be fulfilling a long-standing desire of his life.
MLA S. Randhawa wished the pilgrims a pleasant and auspicious journey and said that the government is implementing such schemes related to the welfare of the people and their feelings with full dedication. Municipal Council officials, Aam Aadmi Party leaders, councilors, party workers and a large number of local residents were also present on the occasion.
