Two Australian women cricketers molested in Indore Accused arrested

Indore- Two Australian women cricketers participating in the ICC Women's World Cup were allegedly chased and one of them was molested by a man on a motorcycle in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A police official said today that the accused was arrested today in connection with the incident that took place in the Khajrana Road area on Thursday morning.
Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi said that the two women cricketers were leaving their hotel and heading towards a cafe when a man on a motorcycle started chasing them. According to Raghuvanshi, the man allegedly touched one of the cricketers inappropriately and fled. Both the cricketers contacted their team's security officer, Danny Simmons, who coordinated with local security liaison officers and sent a vehicle for assistance. Assistant Commissioner of Police Himani Mishra met the two players and recorded their statements. A case has been registered under various sections in the MIG police station.
The officer said that a passerby had noted the motorcycle number of the suspect, on the basis of which the accused Aqeel Khan was arrested. He said that criminal cases have been registered against Khan earlier and the investigation is underway.
On the other hand, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has termed the incident of molestation of Australian women cricketers as shameful and expressed displeasure. The association said, “The city’s reputation has been tarnished by the wrongdoing of one person. As the host, the MPCA sincerely apologizes to the Australian women’s team for this sad and unfortunate incident.
