Karnal, November 29: Last evening, a team from the Crime Investigation Branch of the Assandh district police, acting on a tip-off, arrested Rahul, son of Amritnath, and Ajmer, son of Zila Ram, both residents of Khanda Kheri village, Assandh, on the Rahatak Road Bypass in Assandh. 120 Tramadol capsules, weighing 37.92 grams, were recovered from the accused.

**Supplied the narcotic capsules from Uttar Pradesh
According to the investigating officer, preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were purchasing the narcotic substance from the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh and were bringing it to the Assandh area for further sale. The police team apprehended both accused on the spot.

**Case registered under the NDPS Act
Following the seizure, a case has been registered against both of them at the Assandh police station under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act. Police said that intensive interrogation of the accused is going on so that other persons involved in this drug smuggling chain can be identified and action can be taken against them.
