Truck Owner Arrested by Karnal Police for Filing False Robbery Case
Karnal, January 6:- The Crime Investigation Branch-1 of the Karnal District Police has successfully arrested a truck owner who filed a false report of truck robbery at Indri Police Station.
A team led by Inspector Sandeep Kumar, in-charge of Crime Investigation Branch-1, and headed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Madan Kumar, took swift and effective action and arrested the accused, Mohammad Matloob alias Pappu, son of Rashid Ahmed, a resident of Vijay Nagar Colony, Jagadhri, Yamunanagar district, based on credible evidence.
Police investigation and interrogation revealed that the accused had purchased an old 22-wheeler truck about 9-10 months ago for approximately Rs. 18 lakh, for which he had taken out a loan. The monthly installment for the truck was approximately Rs. 50,000, which the accused was unable to pay on time. Due to financial difficulties, the accused sold the truck to another person.
With the intention of avoiding the loan amount, the accused fabricated a false story of truck robbery and filed a fake case at Indri Police Station. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the CI-1 team conducted a thorough investigation.
The accused was produced before the honorable court today, which granted a two-day police remand. During the remand period, the accused will be interrogated further, and other facts related to the case will be investigated.
