Traitor term offensive Hardeep Puri
New Delhi: Puri said, "It is entirely possible that he harbors deep hatred against Bittu ji for choosing the development policies of the Modi government over the directionless Congress. However, this can never justify such a vile remark against a proud Sikh whose own grandfather was martyred at the hands of terrorists. Calling someone a 'traitor friend' means that he has betrayed his country.
Many of Gandhi's friends may be traitors, but Mr. Bittu is certainly not one of them." He said that calling a prominent Sikh a traitor without any basis is a blot on the entire Sikh community. Puri added, "Before making such derogatory remarks, they should have known about the sacrifices made by our Gurus and Sahibzadas to protect Hinduism.
They should have known about the patriotism that Sikhism teaches every Sikh and also about the bravery with which Sikhs serve in large numbers in the armed forces to protect the sovereignty of Mother India."
