Training was given to nursing students on the occasion of National CPR Day
Patiala:- On the occasion of National CPR Day at Government Nursing College Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, students were trained to perform CPR, recovery position, safe artificial respiration and ventilator to save dying people inside hospitals and during emergencies at public places, and they took an oath that they will always make efforts to save precious lives by performing first aid, CPR during accidents, disasters, wars and incidents.
Expressing these thoughts and feelings, Principal Dr. Balwinder Kaur said that as per the instructions of the Health Minister and Medical Superintendent, National CPR (Heart, Brain, Lungs Resuscitation) Day was celebrated by giving practical training to the students. On this occasion, Government of India Disaster Management, First Aid, Trainer Shri Kaka Ram Verma gave training on ABC in case of cardiac arrest and CPR in case of pulse, breathing and brain function stoppage.
Children below 10 years of age and older people were trained on how, when and with how much pressure to perform CPR, pressing the chest at the heart area, 30 times in 15 seconds and blowing twice into the victim's mouth. Kaka Ram Verma said that only CPR, artificial respiration and recovery position can save lives in cases of unconsciousness, internal head injuries, injuries, internal bleeding, heart/epileptic attacks, cardiac arrest, electric current, blood pressure, very low sugar.
Keep doing this life-saving CPR until the victim regains consciousness. Victims rescued from water, debris, gases, smoke should be placed in the ventilator position, their airways should be cleared, and artificial respiration should be given in a safe manner. While transporting, victims should be placed in the recovery or ventilator position so that the supply of oxygen and glucose to the lungs, heart, and brain of the victims does not stop.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Principal and all the teachers, he said that in future disasters, incidents, wars, epidemics, to save precious lives, their students have been prepared as helping angels.
Every student, teacher, citizen, employee, housewife should also be prepared to take training in first aid, CPR, fire safety, use of cylinders, to save precious lives and properties and to help the administration during emergencies.
