Trade unions employees and farmers organizations celebrated Black Day

Nawanshahr:- Today, trade unions, farmers' organizations, farm workers' organizations, employees and pensioners' unions celebrated Black Day in Nawanshahr in protest against the four labor codes, Electricity Bill 2025, Ji Ramji Law, and privatization.
Addressing a rally held at the local bus stand on this occasion, CITU State General Secretary Mahan Singh Raudi, Prem Kumar Rakkar, IFTU State President Kulwinder Singh Waraich, State Secretary Avtar Singh Tari, AITK leader Hasmat Ali, Pensioners Union leader Kulwinder Singh Atwal, Vijay Kumar, Kuldeep Singh Durka, Surinder Singh Bhatti, Kul Hind Khet Mazdoor Sabha leader Niranjan Das Mehli, Kirti Kisan Union state leader Bhupinder Singh Waraich, Anganwadi Worker Union leader Lakhwinder Kaur, BKU Rajewal leader Kulwinder Singh Sarpanch said that the Modi government at the center is implementing 4 labor codes by abolishing 29 pro-labor labor laws and snatching away the basic rights of workers like forming unions and fighting to please corporate houses and domestic and foreign capitalists.
He said that with the implementation of this code, the democratic right of the workers to form a union and struggle to secure and achieve their rights will be lost. Instead of increasing the remuneration of work, the working hours will be 8 to 12 hours a day. The leaders demanded the implementation of MGNREGA instead of the Ji Ram Ji law, regularization of raw and scheme workers, restoration of the old pension scheme, cancellation of the Electricity Bill 2025 and an end to privatization. On this occasion, Kamaljit Sanawa, leader of Asha Workers Union Shakuntala Saroy, district president of Iftu Gurdial Rakkar, leader of CITU Jaswant Singh Saini, Baljit Kaur, Jujhar Singh of Kul Hind Kisan Sabha, Kuldeep Sujon, Jagtar Singh Punnumjara, leader of PUNBUS Narinder Pandori, Ashwani Kumar also addressed. On this occasion, Surinder Singh Bains, Tarsem Singh Bains, Ram Asra, Satnam Singh Sujon, Gurdial Rakkar, Raghveer Singh, Kiranjit Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur Katt, Manjit Kaur leaders of Chowkidara Union were also present.
