Nawanshahr:- An impressive function dedicated to the festival of Teej was organized today at Blue Moon Resort, in which Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann (Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab), attended as the chief guest and the women present in the program shared the joys of Teej with all. On this occasion, the unparalleled contribution of women in Punjabi heritage, culture and society was specially appreciated. MLA Santosh Kataria, Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi, Chairperson Punjab State Women's Commission Raji Lali Gill, Halqa Incharge Jaspreet Singh Robbi Kang were also present with them.
Addressing the event, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann said:
"Tees are a spiritual part of our Punjabi heritage, which conveys the message of mutual love, affection and happiness between women. In today's era, our daughters are proving their worth by leading in every field. Without the progress of women, the development of any society is incomplete."
She further said that the 'Maawan Dhian Satkar Yojana' launched by the Punjab Government is a historic step to maintain the dignity and respect of women. A prosperous and strong society can be created only by giving equal opportunities and due respect to daughters.
During the event, a very wonderful program was presented by the young women depicting Punjabi heritage. The atmosphere of the resort was completely colored in the color of Tees with the din of gidha, traditional folk songs and dialects.
Dr. Mann said that such programs play an important role in keeping our new generation connected to our values ??and rich heritage. He congratulated everyone on Teej and called upon them to preserve and promote Punjabi culture. He praised Halqa Incharge Jaspreet Singh Robbi Kang for organizing this important program and said that such programs keep us connected to our rich heritage.
