Tikshan Sood Inaugurates 14th District Yoga Championship
Hoshiarpur:- The 14th District Yoga Championship, organised by the District Yoga Association, Hoshiarpur, commenced today at Sood Bhawan. The event was inaugurated by District Yoga Association President Tikshan Sood.
The inaugural session began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana presented by the children. The cultural programme featured impressive rhythmic yoga performances by young participants, while young girls captivated the audience with a vibrant Punjabi Giddha performance. Advocate Arvind Sood, President of Sood Sabha, extended his best wishes to all the participants.
Declaring the championship open, Tikshan Sood highlighted the importance of yoga, stating that it not only keeps the body healthy but also helps unite the mind, body, and soul. He said that since the establishment of the District Yoga Association in 2013, the association has been organising the championship every year to encourage the younger generation to embrace yoga. The winners of the district championship go on to represent Hoshiarpur at the state and national-level yoga championships.
He informed that around 400 participants from 18 schools, along with several independent participants, are taking part in this year's championship. He added that in today's fast-paced lifestyle, yoga has become an effective means of maintaining physical fitness and reducing mental stress.
Tikshan Sood also expressed his gratitude to Sood Sabha Hoshiarpur, Sonalika Limited, Aalishan Plywood, and Savitri Plywood for their valuable support in organising the championship.
Among those present on the occasion were Yoga Guru Ram Charan, Tulsi Sahu, Nakul Shastri, Kumar Gaurav, Sakshi, Pooja Kumari, Surinder Singh, Jatin Kumar, Manish Kumar, Anita Jaiswal, President of Sood Sabha Advocate Arvind Sood, Ashok Singla (MD, Plywood), Keshav Sood (Vice President, Sood Sabha), Bharat Bhushan Sood, Sanjeev Gupta (MD, Hindustan Marble), Vipin Sood, Arun Sood, Amar Malik, Vincy Malik, Krishan Chand Sharma, office-bearers of the Yoga Association, Ram Dev Yadav, Sanjeev Sharma, Sunit Sharma, Manjinder Syan, Akshay Kumar, Anil Sood, Vijay Thakur, Neerja Sood, Shruti Sood, besides principals, staff members of various schools, and other dignitaries.
