Tikshan Sood Hoists Flag at Leprosy Ashram on 80th Independence Day
Hoshiarpur: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood hoisted the Tricolour at the local leprosy ashram. Members of the ashram welcomed Mr. Sud and the accompanying BJP leaders—including former Mayor Shiv Sood, Satish Bawa, Suresh Bhatia 'Bittu', and Pankaj Bansal—by garlanding them. Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, Mr. Sood addressed the gathering, noting that independence was achieved on August 15, 1947, at the cost of a long struggle and countless sacrifices.
He remarked that on this 80th anniversary, it is evident that the Modi government at the Centre is rapidly fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs by providing basic amenities to all citizens and lifting 250 million people out of poverty; furthermore, the resolve of Prime Minister Modi to achieve a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by the 100th year of independence will soon be realized.
Sweets were distributed on the occasion, and Mr. Sood expressed his gratitude to all the ashram residents present.
