Tight matches on the third day of the University Football League InterCollege
Banga/Nawanshahr- Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, the players displayed a high standard of youthful enthusiasm and sportsmanship in three matches on the third day of the Guru Nanak Dev University Football League (Inter-College) at Sikh National College, Banga.
The first match was a close one between Mohan Lal Uppal DAV College and DAV College, Jalandhar, in which both the teams scored one goal each and ended the match in a tie. The chief guest Sardar Jarnail Singh Palijhikki, President Punjab Football Association, was present and appreciated the performance of both the teams.
The second match was between Sikh National College, Banga and Guru Nanak College Sukhchaina Sahib, Phagwara, in which the host team won 1-0. The chief guest of this match was Sardar Charan Singh Gill, a famous volleyball player from America, who congratulated the winning team and motivated the players for better performance. In the third and final match, LKC Jalandhar and Khalsa College, Amritsar played.
Both the teams showed excellent sportsmanship and ended the match in a draw with 2-2 goals. The chief guest S. Harjinder Singh Jagga, Secretary Punjab Football Association, encouraged the players. These matches proved to be an example of courage and cooperation. There was a lot of enthusiasm from the audience and the players presented the game with art and passion.
