Threeday Prime Minister Vishwakarma Exhibition Fair Concludes
Hisar, March 9: The three-day exhibition-fair organized by the MSME-Development Office, Bhiwani, under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, for the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana, has successfully concluded at the Agrasen Bhawan, located near the district's Green Square Market. Hisar Mayor Praveen Popli and District Council Chairman Sonu Sihag Data attended the closing ceremony as chief guests.
Mayor Praveen Popli, while touring the exhibition, praised the quality and variety of products displayed there and said that such events also strengthen the local economy. He stated that such exhibitions provide a vital platform for local artisans and craftsmen. He added that traditional skills are the hallmark of our cultural heritage, and it is our responsibility to preserve and promote them.
Such events play a vital role in connecting local talent directly with the market. The Mayor encouraged the artisans to integrate their skills with modern technology and online platforms so that their products can reach the country and abroad. He congratulated the organizers for the successful event and expressed hope for similar events in the future.
Zila Parishad President Sonu Sihag Data, in his address, said that traditional artisans and craftsmen are gaining new recognition through the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. He said that our country's rich culture and heritage are reflected in the skills of these artisans, and providing them with encouragement and a proper platform is the need of the hour. He explained that such exhibitions not only provide artisans with an opportunity to showcase and sell their products but also serve as a strong step towards self-reliance by connecting them directly to the market.
Expressing gratitude to the organizers, he said that such events will continue to be organized in the future to continue encouraging local talent and accelerate the economic development of the region. Cultural programs were organized at the closing ceremony, in which female participants presented a glimpse of Haryana's traditional culture. During this event, participants with excellent stall decoration and highest sales were also honored.
Rachna Tripathi, Assistant Director in-charge of MSME-Development Office, Bhiwani, stated that this is an ambitious initiative of the Ministry, aimed at promoting traditional handicrafts, providing fair prices to artisans, and increasing their income. She added that artisans are also being encouraged to sell their products through online platforms.
Approximately 50 stalls were set up at the exhibition, showcasing products from various categories. Visitors appreciated the quality of the artisans' products and made good purchases. The organizers provided free stalls to participants. Dignitaries, including Virendra Sheoran, District Project Manager of Haryana Rural Livelihood Mission, were present at the event.
