Threat to blow up courts in Mohali Derabassi and Kharar creates panic
Mohali:- After receiving a bomb threat to blow up courts in Mohali, Derabassi and Kharar through an email, there has been panic in the entire district. This threatening email was received on June 1, after which strict restrictions have been imposed on the entry of the general public into the court complexes from June 3 to June 5, keeping security in mind. Now only accused, litigants and government staff will be allowed inside the courts.
This morning, entry into the Mohali court was completely closed due to security reasons. The entire court complex was thoroughly scanned and sanitized by the bomb disposal squad and anti-sabotage team since morning. After the police administration declared the entire building safe, the official work of the courts could resume only after 12 noon. In view of security, the judicial officers (judges) have instructed their PSOs and Naib Courts to keep a close watch on any suspicious object or movement and to be more vigilant. It is worth mentioning that this is the third incident of bomb threats being received against the courts of Mohali district, due to which judicial functioning is being badly affected. Earlier also, FIRs were registered against unknown persons in the case of such threats, but the repeated occurrence of such incidents and the failure of the government to find any solid solution raises big questions on the security arrangements.
