The twoday 16th Global Cardiomersion Conference concluded
Mohali: The two-day 16th Global Cardiomersion Conference concluded on Sunday in Zirakpur. More than 300 cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pulmonologists, and intensivists from India and abroad participated in the conference, which was themed "New Frontiers in Heart and Lung Transplantation."
The conference was organized in collaboration with the Society for Heart Failure and Transplantation (SHFT) and the Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS).
Experts from India, the USA, and Japan participated in academic exchanges at the conference. Dr. Deepak Puri, Global Chairman of Cardiomersion, which organized the conference, spoke on off-pump revascularization in patients with heart failure after a heart attack. He also highlighted that the most common cause of heart failure is delay in reaching the hospital during the critical period after the onset of symptoms, leading to irreversible myocardial damage and high mortality rates.
Dr. Puri said, "Based on more than two and a half decades of experience working on high-risk patients, he compared the improvements in outcomes over the decades and emphasized the importance of optimized medical therapy, timely complete revascularization on a beating heart, meticulous postoperative care, and structured long-term follow-up."
Cardiomersion is a global group that was started in 2011 to promote an integrated approach to comprehensive cardiac care. The group's fundamental objective is to spread awareness about the comprehensive management of heart and other lifestyle-related diseases. Dr. Jabir, President of SHFT, and Dr. Manoj Durairaj, President of IACTS, also participated in the conference.
