The sex ratio has increased from 905 to 913 compared to last year
Chandigarh, November 4 - Haryana's Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal directed the officers of the Special Task Force to make reverse tracking in abortion cases more effective so that strict action can be taken against the culprits of illegal abortions. He expressed satisfaction that the sex ratio has increased from 905 to 913 by October 31, 2025 and encouraged a further increase in it.
Mr. Sudhir Rajpal was chairing a meeting of the Special Task Force formed to stop illegal abortions here today. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Virendra Dahiya and other members of the Special Task Force were present on the occasion.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Sudhir Rajpal also said that FIR should be registered against the culprits of illegal abortion during reverse tracking and the culprits should be punished after collecting evidence. He said that if any case is dismissed in the lower court, then the Civil Surgeon should appeal in the higher court for that case so that the guilty persons cannot escape punishment. He directed the Legal Officer to keep an eye on the above cases and supervise that no negligence is being used in any case.
He directed to take strict steps to stop the illegal sale of MTP kit and said that everyone will have to work together to improve the sex ratio in the state.
He said that BAMS doctors are not allowed to perform abortions through MTP, if any doctor is found involved in this, his registration will be cancelled. If they are found guilty in the above case again even after cancellation of registration, then an FIR should be registered against them.
Mr. Sudhir Rajpal expressed satisfaction over the increase in sex ratio from 905 from January last year to 31 October 2024 to 913 this year by 31 October 2025, but also urged for further improvement in it.
