The Pensioners Welfare Federation condemned the decision to sell the electricity departments assets

Patiala: The monthly meeting of the Pensioners Welfare Federation Punjab Pehelwan Powercom & Transco Limited, Circle Patiala, was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Balwinder Singh Pasiana at the organization's headquarters at P-3, 66 KV Grid Colony, Patiala. Releasing the meeting's details to the press, State General Secretary Mr. B.S. Sekhon stated that the meeting strongly condemned the Punjab government's decision to sell the electricity department's assets.
In addition, the long-pending demands of the employees, such as the non-discharge of a single installment of dearness allowance to Punjab employees on the occasion of Diwali and the discontinuation of the Jizya tax being deducted from pensions, were also emphasized. The collection of ?200 per month in the name of development tax, the failure to revise the pension of employees who retired before 1-1-2016 by a factor of 2.59 instead of 2.45, and the failure to make a lump sum payment of the arrears of the revised pay scale from 1-1-2016 to 30-06-2021 were strongly condemned, and it was demanded that the accepted demands be resolved soon and the employees' protest be calmed.
State General Secretary B.S. Sekhon was specially present at the meeting. Besides him, Balwinder Singh Pasiana, Vice President Punjab, Rajinder Thakur, Deputy General Secretary Punjab, Brij Mohan, Secretary, Rajinder Singh Sodhi, Rajinder Sandhu, Baljinder Singh, Khushwinder Singh, Jagdish Singh, Satpal Mehta, Gurcharan Singh, Gurbhajan Singh, Shamsher Singh, Gurbir Singh Gulati, Sikander Singh, Inderjit Singh, Prem Chand, Amarjit Bedi, Hakam Singh, Barjinder Singh, and a total of 45 members attended the meeting.
