Sri Muktsar Sahib - Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) President Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has strongly condemned the assault on the family of the party's state delegate Shaminder Singh by some people. While he spoke of standing firmly with the victim's family, he also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. Giani Harpreet Singh demanded from the SSP of Sri Muktsar Sahib that the accused should be arrested immediately and justice should be ensured.
Giani Harpreet Singh said that a few days ago, some people tried to forcibly harvest the crop on the land of the party's state delegate Sardar Shaminder Singh's family, whose registry and girdawari are in the name of the family. When the family opposed this, the family was severely beaten up.
Even the elderly Amritdhari mother was beaten up and Shaminder Singh's father Sardar Sukhdev Singh died a few days later after not being able to bear the beating he was subjected to. After the family staged a dharna for justice, a case was registered against the accused persons but none of the accused persons have been arrested till now.
Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh told the District Police Chief in strong words that the accused persons should be arrested soon and justice should be given to the victim's family. The life and property of the victim's family should be ensured.
