Jalandhar:- A meeting of the Library and Bookstore Sub-Committee of the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee was held at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall. In which the General Secretary of the Committee Gurmeet Singh, Assistant Secretary Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Surinder Kumari Kochhar, Ka Charanji Lal and Vijay Bambali participated. Issues related to the library and Baba Bhagat Singh Bilga Bookstore were discussed in today's meeting.
After this, the committee also held a meeting with the member students of Bhai Santokh Singh Kirti Library and got information about their problems. The students put forward their demands regarding the timings of the library and WiFi facility.
The sub-committee has decided that keeping in mind the demand of the general public and students, arrangements will now be made to keep the library, museum and bookstore open on Sundays as well. The work of digitizing the remaining documents after surveying the archives material in the library will be started immediately.
Apart from this, the library will be made more people-oriented and student-oriented. This information was given by Kulwant Singh Sandhu, President of the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee, Gurmeet Singh, General Secretary and Harvinder Bhandal, Convener of the Library Committee.
