The District Legal Services Authority launched a special drug deaddiction awareness campaign

Hoshiarpur: As per the directives and guidance of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Rajinder Aggarwal, and Secretary-cum-CJM Neeraj Goyal, a special drug de-addiction awareness campaign is being conducted across the district from December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026. In this context, an awareness program was organized at the Government Elementary School, Bains Khurd, where Advocate Ashish Jyoti delivered an anti-drug message to the audience.
Addressing the program, Advocate Ashish Jyoti stated that drug addiction is emerging as a serious threat to society today. To eradicate it, collective participation from all sections of society is essential. He provided detailed information to students, parents, and villagers about the ill effects of drug addiction, the legal provisions related to it, and the rehabilitation facilities available after quitting.
He explained that only by staying away from drugs can youth utilize their potential and contribute to society's progress. On this occasion, people were also informed about legal aid helplines, de-addiction centers, and government schemes, so that those in need can receive timely assistance.
Present at the event were village Bains Khurd Sarpanch Harjeet Singh Bains, Panch Singh Dhami, Panch Seema Rani, Panch Satpal Kaur, Resham Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Harendra Singh, Dalbir Singh, Amandeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh Dhami, Balveer Singh, Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Pritpal, Sarabjit Kaur, Mukesh, Surjit Kaur, school in-charge Praveen Kumari, Amarjeet, Harbhajan Kaur, Anganwadi workers Paramjit Kaur, Kamaldeep Kaur, and other villagers and school staff.
In the end, everyone pledged to spread awareness to create a drug-free society and emphasized the need to expand such programs to every village.
