The country will always be indebted to the armed forces Oishi Mandal

Hoshiarpur:- Assistant Commissioner Oishi Mandal said that the country will always be indebted to the armed forces for maintaining and strengthening the unity and integrity of the country, who are always ready to sacrifice their today for the tomorrow of the countrymen.
He was talking to reporters after flagging off the students of Sainik Institute of Management Technology at the District Administrative Complex on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain to create public interest in the Flag Day, spread awareness among the citizens and collect financial contributions in honor of the flag.
He said that Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on December 7 across the country, but this time Flag Day is being celebrated on December 5 due to government holidays on the 6th and 7th.
The Assistant Commissioner said that we should all be proud of our brave soldiers, who despite being residents of different states of the country and speaking different languages, are united and ready to sacrifice their lives for the protection of the country. He said that on this day we express our solidarity with all the security forces and respect them by wearing the symbolic flag on our collars.
He appealed to all the district residents to make generous financial contributions to the Flag Day Fund, so that maximum help can be provided to the soldiers, ex-servicemen, brave women and their dependents in times of need. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that Hoshiarpur district is at the forefront of making sacrifices across the country.
On this occasion, Colonel Malook Singh (Retd), Vice President of the Zila Sainik Board, said that the amount collected is spent on welfare schemes implemented by the Central and State Governments and for the service of soldiers, their widows and disabled soldiers.
He informed that as per the notification of the Government of India, donations for Armed Forces Flag Day are exempt from income tax. Superintendents Baljit Kaur, Baljinder Kaur, Kulwinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh were also present on the occasion.
