Thalassemic Charitable Trust Successfully Organizes 105th Thalassemia Awareness Program

Chandigarh, June 30, 2026:- The Thalassemic Charitable Trust (TCT) organized its 105th Thalassemia awareness program today at PGIMER, Chandigarh. This special session was conducted for Class 12 students and teachers from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Solan (Himachal Pradesh), who are currently undergoing on-the-job training under the 'Intern Health Care Program' at PGIMER.
During the event, the Trust's Executive Chairperson Mrs. Vibha Mittal, Senior Vice President Mr. A.P. Singh, and Member Secretary Mr. Rajendra Kalra provided detailed information to the students regarding the disease, its symptoms, and its prevention. Informative booklets were also distributed to raise awareness, generating great enthusiasm among the students and teachers.
As part of the awareness drive, the students and teachers visited the Thalassemia ward at PGI. There, they met patients undergoing blood transfusions and gained firsthand insight into the challenges and difficulties faced in their daily lives. The Trust made appropriate arrangements for refreshments for all participants and patients.
At the conclusion of the event, the school staff and students commended the Thalassemic Charitable Trust for this humanitarian initiative and its efficient organization. All participants expressed their gratitude to the Member Secretary and the organizing team for this enlightening session.
