Thalassemic Charitable Trust Organizes Two Mega Blood Donation Camps

Chandigarh:- The Thalassemic Charitable Trust (TCT), PGIMER Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Bhavan Old Students Society, Bhavan Vidyalaya School, Chandigarh, and the Thalassemic Children Welfare Society Rajpura, organized its 334th and 335th blood donation camps. These camps were held on May 23, 2026, at Bhavan Vidyalaya School, New Chandigarh, and on May 24, 2026, in Rajpura.
The camps were conducted in association with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER Chandigarh, to ensure a smooth supply of blood for patients suffering from thalassemia and other needy patients. A total of 67 and 84 (151 in total) donors donated blood at these camps respectively. Appreciating this noble contribution, the donors were honored with certificates, badges, and mementos.
The Thalassemic Charitable Trust made comprehensive arrangements for the comfort and convenience of the donors. Along with this, a special 'Thalassemia Awareness Desk' was also set up to educate the participants about thalassemia and the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.
On this occasion, the urgent need for regular voluntary blood donation was emphasized, and an appeal was made to the general public to come forward and help save precious lives that depend on timely blood support.
Prof. (Dr.) R.R. Sharma, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, and members of TCT expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the voluntary blood donors. They also praised the dedicated efforts of the teams from the Department of Transfusion Medicine and TCT for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of these camps.
