Thalassemic Charitable Trust Organizes 338th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

Chandigarh: The Thalassemic Charitable Trust (TCT), Chandigarh, in collaboration with Shri Ram Sevadar Trust (Regd.), Panchkula, successfully organized its 338th voluntary blood donation camp on July 4, 2026, at Aggarwal Bhawan, Sector-16, Panchkula. The camp was conducted under the guidance of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The objective of the camp was to ensure the continuous availability of safe blood for thalassemia patients and other patients in need.
Shri Shyam Lal Bansal, Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Panchkula, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Shri Jagmohan Garg, Managing Director of the Jubilee Group, was present as the Guest of Honour. Sixty-five voluntary blood donors enthusiastically donated blood at the camp. All donors were honored with certificates of appreciation, badges, and mementos in recognition of their humanitarian and selfless contribution.
The Trust made all necessary arrangements for the convenience and care of the donors. A special thalassemia awareness center was also set up, where visitors were informed about thalassemia, its treatment, prevention, and the importance of regular voluntary blood donation. Particular emphasis was placed on how vital regular blood donation is for thalassemia patients who depend on lifelong blood transfusions.
Alongside the blood donation camp, a super-specialty OPD (free health check-up camp) was also organized. Consultations were provided by specialist doctors in fields such as Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Dietetics. Additionally, free health screening facilities—including blood pressure checks, dental examinations, BMI checks, and ECGs—were made available to the general public.
On this occasion, the organizers emphasized the need for regular voluntary blood donation and urged citizens to donate blood periodically. He stated that every unit of blood could prove to be a lifesaver for someone in need.
At the conclusion of the event, representatives from the Department of Transfusion Medicine at PGIMER, Chandigarh—along with TCT Senior Vice President Mr. A.P. Singh, Finance Secretary Dr. Vini Sood, Member Secretary Mr. Rajinder Kalra, Joint Secretary Mr. Amit Sood, and Executive Member Mr. M.L. Gandhi—expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the voluntary blood donors. They also commended the dedicated efforts of the medical team and the entire TCT team, whose contributions made the successful and well-organized conduct of the camp possible.
