Terror Funding Case Delhi High Court dismisses plea of Hizbul chiefs sons

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed petitions filed by two sons of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and others challenging the decision to frame charges against them in a terror funding case.
A bench of Justice Vivek Chaudhary and Justice Manoj Jain dismissed the appeals as inadmissible, although a detailed verdict in the case is yet to be announced. The accused had challenged the order of framing charges against them by a trial court in 2021.
According to the National Investigation Agency, the case pertains to a conspiracy by Pakistan-based terrorists to send funds to promote terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir through hawala channels. Salahuddin's son Shahid Yusuf was arrested in October 2017 and his second son Syed Ahmed Shakeel in August 2018 from Srinagar.
The NIA alleges that Shakeel received funds for Hizbul Mujahideen through Saudi cadres and Yusuf from abroad. Salahuddin, who has been declared a global terrorist by the US, is currently the self-proclaimed commander of Hizbul Mujahideen.
