Telangana 19 dead 4 injured in tipperbus collision

Ranga Reddy (Tilangana) - At least 19 people were killed and four others injured when a tipper truck loaded with gravel collided head-on with a bus in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district. The collision took place this morning with a Telangana Road Transport Corporation bus near Chewela, as a result of which gravel from the tipper fell on the bus.
A police officer said that 10 women were among the 19 people who died. The driver of the bus, which was going from Tandur to Hyderabad, was also among the dead.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post on 'X', said that he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident. He announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 per person for the injured.
According to the bus conductor, there were 72 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. Many passengers were trapped inside the vehicle due to gravel falling on the bus and the authorities used JCB machines to carry out the rescue operation. The bus passengers have been taken out, a police officer said. Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed to immediately carry out the rescue operation.
