Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani inaugurated the StateLevel InterCollege Youth Festival

Una, November 12 – Town and Country Planning, Housing, and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani inaugurated the four-day State-Level Inter-College Youth Festival (Group III) at the Government Degree College, Una on Wednesday. State Rafting Association President and former MLA Satpal Singh Raijada was the special guest on the occasion.
687 students from 44 colleges across the state are showcasing their talents in classical dance, choreography, folk dance, drama, instrumental music, singing, and other disciplines. The performances, accompanied by colorful costumes and folk tunes, presented a unique blend of Himachal's rich folk tradition and modern youth creativity.
Rajesh Dharmani said that such events provide a platform for youth to develop self-confidence, creativity, and cultural engagement. He added that the state government is taking concrete steps to enhance the quality of education and provide a competitive environment for the new generation.
To this end, 100 schools in the state have been integrated with the CBSE system, while modern facilities in sports, science, and other subjects are being provided to students through Rajiv Gandhi Model Day Boarding Schools.
He stated that the government is ensuring that education is not limited to any region, class, or situation. Providing quality education in rural and remote areas is our top priority.

**Calling for awareness against drug abuse among youth
The Minister urged youth to play a positive role in society by staying away from the temptations of drug abuse. He stated that the state government is implementing a strict policy against drug abuse and strict action is being taken against offenders. An "Anti-Chitta Rally" will be held in Shimla soon, followed by district-level public awareness campaigns.
The inaugural session featured captivating presentations by students. College Principal Dr. Meeta Sharma presented a brief overview of the college's activities and achievements. On this occasion, principals, professors, cultural coordinators and a large number of students from various colleges were present.
