Teachers at Budha Dal School received training on saving precious lives during emergencies

Patiala: Under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Harpreet Kaur at Budha Dal Public School, teachers underwent training conducted by Mr. Kaka Ram Verma—a retired Training Supervisor from the Red Cross Society and a Disaster Management Trainer for the Government of India. The training focused on saving lives and preventing conditions from worsening during emergencies such as fires, gas leaks, electrical accidents, and petroleum-related incidents. Teachers participated in practical group sessions covering immediate first aid, recovery positions, artificial respiration, CPR, and the management of fainting, shock, 'blue baby' syndrome, angina, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, fluctuations in blood sugar or blood pressure, epilepsy, electric shocks, fractures, and bleeding. Mr. Verma demonstrated how to prevent fatalities and stabilize victims, as well as techniques for transport and rescue.
Expressing gratitude to Principal Mrs. Harpreet Kaur and the teaching staff, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma noted that in today's world, more deaths occur due to natural, domestic, institutional, seasonal, and man-made disasters, wars, and fires than from diseases. He emphasized that since there is often no second chance to save lives during an emergency, every student, teacher, citizen, and employee should undergo such training. He stated that 80% of victims' lives could be saved if trained individuals provided the correct assistance.
The participating teachers thanked the school management, the Principal, and Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, stating that through such training, practice, and mock drills, 'guardian angels'—individuals capable of minimizing accidents and saving precious lives—should be groomed.
