Tanker catches fire one person dead
Ambala, February 17:- An empty diesel tanker parked on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway near Baldev Nagar on Tuesday at 1 pm exploded again. In this accident, a mechanic and welder Lakhwinder alias Lucky (30), a resident of Rani Majra in Handesra, Punjab, died. At the time of the accident, welding work was going on in this tanker in the service lane near Chandigarh highway.
The deceased Lakhwinder worked as a welder with his uncle Gurcharan. At the time of the accident, he was working on the tanker. A fire brigade vehicle also reached the spot and sprayed water on the tanker.
In this regard, SHO Dharamvir of Baldev Nagar police station said that when welding was going on, a fire suddenly broke out in which Lakhwinder was burnt and died. Fire brigade personnel said that after receiving information about the fire, they reached the spot and extinguished the fire and took the burnt person to the hospital where he was declared dead. According to information, three months ago, there was an explosion in a tanker at the same place.
