Talent Felicitation Ceremony Organized at DAV BEd College Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur:- Under the guidance of Dr. Anoop Kumar (President, DAV College Managing Committee) and Mr. R.M. Bhalla (Secretary), and under the leadership of Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, the DAV College of Education, Hoshiarpur—in collaboration with the 'Students for Development Organization, Punjab'—organized a 'Pratibha Samman Samaroh' (Talent Felicitation Ceremony) dedicated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Chief Guest for this event was the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Mr. Vijay Sampla (former Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and former Minister of State). Prof. Dr. Samarendra Sharma, a member of the Punjab Public Service Commission (and former Vice-Chancellor of Arni University, Himachal Pradesh, as well as President of the Bharatiya Utthan Sabha), served as the Guest of Honor.
At the commencement of the program, the College Principal, Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, formally welcomed all the invited guests. On this occasion, the morale of the students was boosted by presenting them with mementos. These included 6 students who secured top positions in the M.Ed. and B.Ed. programs; 10 students who won gold medals at the PU Zonal and Inter-Varsity Youth and Heritage Festivals, as well as the PU Inter-College Annual Athletic Meet; the 'Best Athlete' of the College Athletic Meet; 103 students who qualified in teaching-related examinations such as PTET, CTET, and UGC-NET; and 70 students who secured top positions in various courses at other prestigious colleges across Hoshiarpur city.

(Director, Sai Colleges), Dr. Dheeraj Sharma (Principal, Guru Nanak College of Education, Dallewal), Shri Ashwani Kumar Datta (Retired DDPI), Shri Rajiv Tarsem Lal Singla (Singla Steel Industries), social worker Shri Yogesh Chander, Smt. Aarti Sood (Principal, Kids Public School), Shri Bharat Bhushan, Shri Harish Chander Sharma (Treasurer, DAV CMC), Advocate Shri Navroz Sharma (Secretary, Education College), Shri Varun Sharma (Member, DAV CMC), Shri Yograj Nakra, Shri Bajrangi Pandey, and Shri Dikshu were honored for their distinguished contributions to the field of education. On this occasion, the cultural programs presented by the students captivated everyone.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Chief Guest Shri Vijay Sampla stated that this felicitation ceremony is dedicated to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, as his life as a student remains a source of inspiration for students even today. Prof. Dr. Samarendra Sharma remarked that it is education that brings about empowerment in society, and he further encouraged everyone to draw lessons from the teachings propounded by Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
President Dr. Anoop Kumar congratulated the students who had achieved distinction and extended his best wishes for their continued success in their future endeavors. Secretary Shri R.M. Bhalla congratulated the college Principal and staff on the successful organization of the event. Advocate Shri Navroz Sharma (Secretary, Education College) conveyed his best wishes for a successful future to all the students who received honors. Departmental Organizing Secretary Shri Nirdesh Khajuria urged the students to adhere to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s mantra: "Educate, Organize, and Agitate."
On this occasion, Shri Yograj Nakra announced the institution of an annual "Best All-Round Student" trophy in memory of his late daughter and former college student, Ankita Nakra; this year, the award was presented to Amisha Thakur, a fourth-semester student of the college. Additionally, he extended support to a needy student of the college from the current academic session... ...and also paid the fees.
College Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla stated that the award distribution ceremony serves as a mirror reflecting the college's progress across various fields, as well as the activities conducted periodically. By organizing such events, the participation of students in diverse activities can be recognized and rewarded, thereby inspiring them to remain actively engaged in various societal endeavors as well.
