Survey to be conducted for opening schools in urban areas Chief Minister
Chandigarh, February 11:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini directed the officials of the Education Department to conduct a survey for opening schools in urban areas to provide education to children in view of the increasing population and area so that children in cities do not have to travel long distances to go to school.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini was presiding over the meeting of the State Level Direction Committee on Wednesday. Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, MP Dharambir Singh, Naveen Jindal and many MLAs were also present in the meeting. All the district officials also joined the meeting online.
The Chief Minister said that out of the 34 thousand children who had dropped out of school last year, 18796 children were provided 6-month training and out of them 15386 children were brought into the mainstream. Apart from this, the construction work of the school building in Sector 37 Faridabad will be started soon. He said that model Sanskriti schools are being opened in every district for the students.
He said that a special awareness campaign should be launched to extend the benefits of Har Ghar Grihani Yojana to eligible women. Apart from this, people should be made aware about solar subsidy schemes to provide electricity to citizens living in slums.
The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to making the state TB free and anemia free. The state has covered 98 percent in the National Worm Free Campaign. Apart from this, neuropathy facilities should be increased in the state so that the citizens get immediate health benefits. Emphasis should be laid on opening Jan Aushadhi Kendras so that the citizens can get medicines at reasonable prices.
While reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Shri Naib Singh Saini said that as per the target of constructing 98726 houses in the state, 76275 houses have been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 652 crore, out of which 41491 have been completed and the rest are under construction. Similarly, 67649 houses will be constructed in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban Scheme. Out of this, 33690 houses have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 703 crore.
He said that the application process of Scheduled Caste families for the assistance amount to be given under Dr. BR Ambedkar Awas Yojana should be completed soon so that the eligible people can be provided the amount next month. Apart from this, a State Central Library is being constructed in Ambala and a District Library in Narnaul for the youth.
While reviewing the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, the Chief Minister said that a plan should be made to create water bodies in waterlogged areas so that water can be used as per the requirement. Proposals should be sought from the village panchayats for this. He said that Hisar drain and Bhiwani drain will be deepened and expanded. Its process will be completed in 1 year.
While reviewing the Amrit Yojana-2, the Chief Minister said that under this scheme, 27 water and 9 sewage projects are being run which will be completed soon. Apart from this, work is being done on sewage in about 59 big villages under the Mahagram Yojana and sewage and drinking water projects are also being done in new municipalities. He said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, 66 thousand toilets have been constructed and special attention is being paid to urban and rural sanitation.
The Chief Minister said that the Sports Department is spending Rs 314 crore on the renovation of 257 sports stadiums and 1025 gymnasiums and indoor gyms have been built in rural areas. Priority is being given to the construction of tracks in gymnasiums so that women in rural areas can get better places for walking. Other departments were also reviewed in detail in the meeting and necessary guidelines were given to the officers.
