Students will become Chief Minister and Minister
Chandigarh- The one-day ‘Student Session’ of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be held in November, in which students of government schools will participate as members. For the first time in the Vidhan Sabha, there will be an experience of ‘mock session’ and this session will last for the whole day like a normal session. So far, it has been decided to convene this ‘Student Session’ on November 26. Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has started preparations for the ‘Student Session’ from today itself.
Mr. Sandhwan today held a virtual meeting with all the District Education Officers and asked them to select and send one student each from each Vidhan Sabha constituency. On the lines of the current members of the Vidhan Sabha, one student will be selected from each constituency. The student elected from Dhuri constituency will be given the role of Chief Minister, while the student elected from Qadian will get the role of Leader of the Opposition.
The ‘Student Session’ will exclusively involve students of class XI and XII of government schools. District Education Officers have been instructed to select bright students from each constituency like the members of the current Vidhan Sabha. A girl student will be selected from the constituency from which there is a female MLA and a student belonging to the SC category will be selected and sent from the reserved constituency.
The students selected from the constituencies with opposition members will sit on the opposition benches during the special session, the students selected from the constituencies from which there are currently ‘AAP’ MLAs will be in the role of the ruling party, the students selected from the constituencies from which the MLAs selected from the constituencies are ministers in the current ministry will be in the role of the respective ministers.
The student selected from the Kotkapura constituency will play the role of the Speaker in the ‘Student Session’. The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has started preparations for the ‘Student Session’. 117 students will be finalised from across Punjab, who will be given complete training on the rules by the Vidhan Sabha staff. Regular training camps will also be organized.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretary Ram Lok Khatana said that preparations have been started for the necessary arrangements for the ‘Student Session’.
