Strong opposition to the pollution being spread by Quantum Paper Mill Saila Khurd

Hoshiarpur:- A delegation of leaders of the Human Rights Struggle Committee, Saila Khurd, led by former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria regarding the issue of pollution being spread by Quantum Paper Mill Saila Khurd.
Avinash Rai Khanna told the Governor that the local people are facing serious problems due to the Quantum Paper Mill, which has been running in Saila Khurd area for many years. The dirty and polluted water coming out of the mill is spreading in the surrounding areas, which is having a negative impact on the health of the people. Apart from this, it is also having a harmful effect on animals, birds and other animals.
He said that the life of the local people has become very difficult due to the foul smell coming out of the paper mill and due to this, many types of diseases are also spreading. They alleged that proper waste treatment of the factory is not being arranged, due to which the environment is also being severely damaged.
Khanna said that the residents of the area have complained to the concerned departments many times in this regard, but no effective action has been taken so far.
The delegation appealed to the Governor that keeping in mind the public interest, appropriate action should be taken against the mill managers and the residents of the area should be given immediate relief from the problems being faced due to pollution.
Sanjeev Gupta Bobby, Rinku Chandpuri, Sarpanch Goldy Singh, Mohit Gupta, Rajesh Kumar, Karanvir Singh and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
