Strict Action Should Be Taken Against Those Disturbing Social Harmony Ravi Ahuja
Hisar: JJP District Spokesperson and former Hisar Assembly candidate Ravi Ahuja, in a released statement, expressed deep objection to the use of words like "Pakistani," "Refugee," or other derogatory and casteist terms for any section or community of society, and demanded strict legal action against such acts.
Addressing any citizen with words that demean them based on their social background or community is not only unconstitutional but also detrimental to social harmony and national unity. He stated that recently, these words were used while threatening a YouTuber in the city, which is extremely unfortunate and condemnable. He added that this is not the first incident; rather, some anti-social and uncivilized elements continue to try and spread animosity in society by using such words from time to time.
Ravi Ahuja mentioned that such indecent words have also been used in the past against a senior public representative who was the former Chief Minister of the state and is currently serving as a Cabinet Minister in the Central Government. This is completely contrary to democratic values, social decorum, and the tradition of civilized dialogue.
He stated that the use of words like "Refugee" is also factually inappropriate because citizens who move and settle from one place to another within their own country cannot be placed in this category. Millions of people who endured the horrific tragedy of the country's partition have made significant contributions to nation-building through their hard work, struggle, and perseverance, and have established a respectable place in society.
He demanded that the Central and State Governments enact strict laws to prevent such anti-social acts and ensure provisions for the strictest punishment against those who use derogatory and casteist language that hurts the dignity of any individual or community.
