Karnal, July 30:- Acting under the directives of the Karnal Superintendent of Police as part of the district police's special campaign against drug smugglers, the Anti-Narcotics Cell team—led by In-charge Sub-Inspector Rajan—successfully arrested two individuals under the NDPS Act. The arrest took place near the Asandh-Jind Road (Highway 152-D) within the jurisdiction of the Asandh Sector Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ranjeet Singh (son of Avtar Singh, resident of Maulviwala, Patiala) and Swarn Singh (son of Mangal, resident of Chichadwala, Patiala, Punjab).
The police recovered 2.3 kg of poppy husk (a narcotic substance) and a vehicle from the possession of the accused.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell team apprehended both accused during a patrol. They were produced before the honorable court today and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
The Karnal District Police has appealed to the general public to immediately report any information regarding drug trafficking or illegal activities. The identity of the informant will be kept strictly confidential.
