Stone surgery done after watching YouTube video Woman dies case registered

Barabanki (UP):- An illegal clinic owner and his nephew allegedly performed a surgery on a woman after watching a YouTube video, following which the woman died, officials said. The incident took place in the Kothi police station area, where the two were allegedly running the clinic without any valid authority.
According to the police, Tej Bahadur Rawat's wife Munishra Rawat was suffering from stone disease. On December 5, her husband took her to Shri Damodar Aushdhalya in Kothi, where the clinic operator Gyan Prakash Mishra allegedly told her that her stomach pain was due to stones and advised an operation. The cost of which was said to be Rs 25,000.
Police said that the husband had deposited Rs 20,000 before the surgery. Tej Bahadur alleged in his complaint that Mishra, who has been described as a 'scam doctor', was under the influence of alcohol and started the procedure after watching a YouTube video.
He alleged that Mishra, in a state of intoxication, made a deep cut on his wife's stomach, which cut several nerves, after which she died the next evening on December 6. Mishra's nephew helped him during the procedure.
Kothi SHO Amit Singh Bhadauria said that a case of death due to negligence has been registered against the clinic operator and his nephew, along with sections under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
He said that efforts are on to arrest the absconding accused. The police said that the nephew Vivek Kumar Mishra works in an Ayurvedic hospital in Rae Bareli and the illegal clinic was allegedly being run for several years under the guise of his government job. They further said that on Tuesday, the superintendent of Kothi Community Health Centre, Sanjeev Kumar, sealed the clinic.
