State Level Kala Utsav 2025 Organized at Mohali

SAS Nagar, October 30: Under the leadership of Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab, and the guidance of Mrs. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Secretary, School & Higher Education Department, Punjab, the office of the Director General School Education, Punjab successfully organized the State Level Kala Utsav 2025 in a grand and vibrant manner at the Punjab School Education Board Campus, Mohali.
The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the sacred lamp by Mr Arvind Kumar M.K., IAS, Director General School Education, Punjab, along with Mrs Harkirat Kaur Chane, PCS, Director School Education (Elementary), Punjab, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Arvind Kumar M.K. encouraged the participating district teams to continue nurturing their talents with hard work, discipline, and creativity. He said that Kala Utsav not only provides a platform for students to showcase their artistic potential but also helps them stay connected with India’s glorious cultural traditions.
Ms Gurmeet Kaur, Deputy SPD, highlighted that the event plays a pivotal role in fostering creativity, innovation, and cultural awareness among students.
Prizes were distributed to the first, second, and third position holders by Mr Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Director School Education (Secondary), Punjab, and Mrs Gurmeet Kaur, Deputy SPD. The first-place winners of the State Level Kala Utsav 2025 will represent Punjab at the National Kala Utsav 2025.
Under Kala Utsav 2025, students presented their talent across twelve subcategories of six major art forms, including both individual and group performances, celebrating creativity, expression, and cultural diversity.

Traditional Storytelling (Group Category): 1st – PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Sanour, Patiala; 2nd – St. Joseph Convent School, Pathankot
The event was not merely a competition but a celebration of Punjab’s young artistic talent, creativity, and cultural pride, reflecting the unity in diversity that defines India’s heritage.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mrs. Tanjeet Kaur (Deputy SPD), Mr. Manoj Kumar (Deputy SPD), Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj (Assistant Director), Mrs. Balwinder Kaur (Assistant Director), Mr. Sushil Nath (Assistant Director), Balpreet Kaur, Surekha Thakur, Amritjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh (State Coordinator, Primary), Rajinder Singh Chani, and other officials.
