State government is encouraging innovative skills along with reforms Dr Arvind Sharma

Chandigarh, December 28:- Haryana's Minister for Cooperation, Jails, Elections, Heritage and Tourism Dr. Arvind Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, criminal activities are being reduced while tightening the noose on criminals. He said that jails are now becoming an example in the direction of reformation, not punishment, due to which along with reforms in the state's jails, innovative skills are being encouraged to the prisoners, so that after the first sentence, the prisoners can join the mainstream of society.
On Sunday, Jail Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma inaugurated the jail filling stations set up in Sonipat, Karnal, Faridabad, Hisar, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Nuh jail complexes from District Jail, Sonepat.
Jail Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that considering the possibility of providing work opportunities to the prisoners outside the jail on the basis of their good conduct, a jail filling station was established as a pilot project in Kurukshetra Jail on the directions of the then Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal. After its success, it was decided to establish jail filling stations in 11 jails in the state and today 7 pumps have been started in the same process. He said that by March 2026, jail filling stations will also be established in the Narnaul, Bhiwani, Sirsa and Jhajjar jail premises of the state. He said that Haryana's jails are at the forefront in providing education, especially education rich in innovation and skill development to the prisoners. In the same month, the country's Chief Justice Surya Kant started ITI diploma courses and polytechnic courses from Gurugram Jail, which is being followed by other states today. Haryana is ensuring that prisoners can get respectable employment after coming out of jail and can join the mainstream of society.
Therefore, work is being done to make the state's jails a symbol of reform, education and self-reliance. Director General of Jails Alok Kumar Rai said that 50 gangsters have been kept in different places in the state's jails so that their network cannot be formed. He said that today, due to the strong security arrangements in the jails, strict surveillance is being kept on the criminals so that they do not become involved in other crimes.
