Sports Day celebrated in memory of Engineer Ankit Arora
Patiala- The match started auspiciously by congratulating the Indian women's cricket team for winning the World Champion Trophy. In memory of Engineer Ankit Arora, on the occasion of National Sports Day, his father Vijay Arora and mother Alka Arora organized 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, relay race 100x4 meters and long jump competitions for children from different schools at Government Physical Education College, Patiala under the patronage of Principal Dr. Anubhav Wali.
Principal Wali congratulated the Indian women's cricket team for winning the World Cup and encouraged the participating children to make progress in sports every day to become world champions. In these competitions, children up to the age of 12 from Sony Public School, Mahindra Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Green Land Public Senior Secondary School, Career Academy, Toddler Town Eastwood School and Green Well High School performed with full enthusiasm, courage, self-confidence according to their strength, ability, and experience.
Apart from the Principal Wali Ji, the sports teachers, students and administrators of the Physical Education College openly praised her saying that if children are continuously prepared for sports competitions by educational institutions from childhood, then the problems of diseases, drugs, fast food, junk food, crimes, leisure pursuits, stress, impatience, fashions, fun and taste can be eliminated from children and youth.
In the competitions, Sony Public School was awarded the Ankit Arora Memorial Trophy for winning the best gold, silver and bronze medals, Career Academy and Mahindra Kanya Maha Vidyalaya were also awarded trophies for winning the second and third best medals. For the success of these competitions, commendable efforts were made by Shri Kaka Ram Verma, Gurjap Singh, Ravinder Kaur Sidhu, Sagar Sood, Baljinder Thakur and the students of the Physical Education College.
