Special message from Civil Surgeon Dr Mandeep Kamal on World Health Day
Hoshiarpur:- Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal shared important health-related information with the residents of the district on the occasion of World Health Day to be celebrated on 7th April 2026. He said that World Health Day is celebrated globally on 7th April every year. The main objective of which is to create awareness about health among the people and establish a healthy society.
He said that this year the theme of World Health Day has been “Together for Health – Stand with Science”**. The aim of which is to motivate people to take health-related decisions based on scientific methods and accurate information.
The Civil Surgeon said that a balanced and nutritious diet is very important for good health. Green vegetables, fruits, pulses, milk and grains should be included in the daily diet and the consumption of junk food, oily and sweet things should be reduced. He said that exercising or walking for at least 30 minutes daily is very beneficial for keeping the body healthy.
He appealed to the people to take special care of personal hygiene, such as washing hands with soap, using clean water and maintaining cleanliness in the house and surroundings. He said that clean drinking water and proper sanitation are helpful in preventing many diseases.
He appealed to the people to stay away from tobacco and drugs and said that tobacco use is the main cause of many serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease and lung diseases.
