Special honor to NRI heroes by Municipal Public Park Management Committee Nawanshahr
Nawanshahr:- The local Municipal Public Park, which is being run with the support of Municipal Council Nawanshahr, has created a unique identity in the area and is being maintained under the Public Park Management. Among the NRI heroes who have contributed from time to time to maintain this park, those who had come here specially were specially honored today.
During a simple and impressive ceremony, where women serving in park management were congratulated on the occasion of International Women's Day, Canada resident S. Kulvir Singh Grewal, UK resident Mr. Tarsem Lal and USA resident Sardar Kulwinder Singh Kandola were honored with saropes and honorable mentions.
Speaking on the occasion, Park Management Head S. Didar Singh Gahun welcomed the guests and also thanked them for their continuous service for the maintenance of this park. He said that in preparing this park and for its maintenance for the last 10 years, while the local people have been contributing to the service, the NRI brothers living abroad are getting great support to take it to new heights.
Addressing the congregation on this occasion, Park Committee Member and Chief Servant of Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society, Mr. Surjit Singh said that while God has immense grace in running both our institutions on a large scale, the NRI brothers of this area have always contributed greatly.
By the grace of God, whenever the NRI brothers come to the area and see the beauty of this park, they feel very satisfied with the religious and social welfare activities being done by both the institutions and they also inspire other gentlemen of the area abroad towards these services so that maximum contribution can be made in these works of social service. He said that there is never a break in the good intentions and selfless service being done.
On this occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Nawanshahr Sub Division, Mr. Raj Kumar Ji, while addressing the members, said that while the public park has become a special identity of the area, it is also very rare to find an example of its maintenance being done by the members holding a broom in their hands. This is the reason why today these two organizations have achieved great pride in the field of service in this area. He wished for the progress of the organizations. All the speakers also congratulated the women participating in today's meeting on International Women's Day.
