Nabha:- After the preliminary process for SIR of voter lists by the Election Commission, BLOs have been instructed to check that there are no non-human images in the voter list. Along with this, instructions have been given to remove errors. An official said that blurred, black and white images or absence of images will also be replaced with color images.
According to the issued instructions, wherever there is a need to change the image, it should be confirmed at the ground level and a complete record of the change should be kept by filling Form No. 8 from the voter. Apart from this, mistakes in name, age, gender, address etc. along with any other "illogical/absurd" mistakes have been asked to be carefully checked. If any vote needs to be deducted, then Form No. 7 should be filled.
BLOs were seen going door to door in Nabha and taking pictures. A senior official said that further instructions have been issued as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India. For example, during the Bihar SIR, the case of posting more pictures with the voter on social media went viral. Although there was no official confirmation of any such incident, the above instructions have been issued by the Election Commission so that there is no scope for such a mistake.
BLOs said that there is a problem of the app becoming extremely slow during the day, but after the instructions come, there is pressure to get the work done quickly.
