SIR 8921 of voters mapped in the district District Election Officer
Hoshiarpur: Following the guidelines of Punjab's Chief Electoral Officer, special camps were organized at polling stations across all assembly constituencies in the district to map voter lists as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. During this drive, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) mapped approximately 8,700 voters, bringing the total number of mapped voters in the district to 1,131,748.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain stated that BLOs conducted voter mapping under the SIR program at over 1,500 polling stations across the district on Sunday. She noted that the total number of voters in the district is 1,268,635; of these, 1,131,749 have been mapped, while the records of 136,886 voters remain to be updated.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the mapping process for 89.21 percent of voters has been completed so far, and BLOs are continuously working to update the remaining voters soon. She added that BLOs have requested necessary documents to rectify discrepancies found in the details of certain voters in the district.
The District Election Officer stated that in Assembly Constituency 39-Mukerian, 187,898 out of a total of 205,133 voters have been mapped, achieving 91.60 percent completion. In Assembly Constituency 40-Dasuya, 176,586 out of 195,167 voters have been mapped, with 90.48 percent of the mapping work completed. In Assembly Constituency 41-Urmar, there are 173,657 total voters; of these, 156,847 have been mapped, resulting in a mapping completion rate of 90.32 percent.
Similarly, in 42-Sham Chaurasi, there are 173,896 voters, with 159,386 mapped, achieving 91.66 percent completion. In 43-Hoshiarpur, there are 188,608 total voters; 146,069 have been mapped, representing a completion rate of 77.45 percent.
In 44-Chabbewal, the total number of voters is 159,700; mapping has been completed for 146,144, and the remaining voters have been asked to submit the necessary documents, with 91.51 percent of the mapping work already done. Likewise, in constituency 45-Garhshankar, there are 172,474 total voters, of whom 158,819 have been mapped, bringing the completion rate to 92.08 percent so far.
