Sikh National College Banga concludes annual sports festival with great enthusiasm
Banga/Nawanshahr:- The closing ceremony of the annual sports festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm at Sikh National College Banga. The students proved their worth by performing brilliantly in various sports competitions. Sardar Jasvir Singh Langeri (USA) and Sardar Zorawar Singh Sandhu (USA) attended the occasion as the chief guest and special guest. They encouraged the players and highlighted the importance of sports.
The chief guests encouraged the players and highlighted the importance of sports during their address. They made the students aware to stay away from social evils like drugs and said that youth is the most valuable period of life and it is very important to use this time in the right direction. Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder honored the guests present at the sports festival and expressed his heartfelt gratitude and also distributed prizes to the winning players of various sports competitions.
Students participated with great enthusiasm in 100m and 200m races (boys and girls), shot put, spoon race, relay race and tug of war. In the annual sports festival, the title of Best Athlete (boys) was won by B.A. student Krish, while the title of Best Athlete (girls) was won by Saniya Rani. Baba Deep Singh House was adjudged the best house on the basis of its excellent performance in the march past. Maharaja Ranjit Singh House won the overall trophy by securing 38 points on the basis of collective marks.
Second Place Jassa Singh Ahluwalia House secured the second position by securing 31 points, while Hari Singh Nalwa House secured the third position with 30 points. Apart from this, the title of Best Athlete Boy in Sikh National Collegiate School was won by Prabhjot Balu and Best Athlete Girl Simran. Finally, Dr. Indu Ratti, in-charge of the organizing committee of the college, thanked the guests and congratulated the staff and students for the success of the annual sports festival.
The flag was handed over to the sports committee by the Principal and finally the ceremony was concluded after the national anthem. The guests on this occasion included Sardar Jaspal Singh Ghania (Canada), Sardar Surjit Singh Rakkar (USA), Sardar Paramjit Singh Heria, Sardar Malkit Singh (Canada), Sardar Malkit Singh Gausal (Athletic Coach), Sardar Randhir Singh Bhullar (Athletic Coach), Sardar Bhajan Singh Sadhra (UK) and Sardar Darshan Singh Mahal (Canada), Resham Singh Resham, Mohan Singh Kandola, Shaminder Singh Garcha and Jasvir Singh (Football Coach), Dr. Indu Ratti and Organizing Secretary Prof. Manish Sandhir and all the college staff were present
