Shiv SenaHind strongly opposes insulting posters against Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann
Ambala, June 30:- Shiv Sena-Hind National President Nishant Sharma and Shiv Sena-Hind National Spokesperson and Punjab-Haryana Incharge Deepak Shandilya in a joint statement have expressed deep anger over the insulting posters put up against Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in various areas of Punjab. They said that such public insult against any elected Chief Minister in a democracy is neither appropriate nor in accordance with the glorious tradition of Punjab. Political differences are a part of democracy but protests should always be carried out in a civilized, constitutional and respectful manner.
Nishant Sharma said that earlier many Chief Ministers of Punjab had made big promises by taking oath on the holy Shri Gutka Sahib in big public meetings and rallies. During the tenure of various governments, many serious incidents took place, law and order was questioned, long protests took place and many innocent lives were lost. Such a derogatory poster campaign was never seen in those circumstances. If Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is being targeted in this way today, it seems like a double standard to many.
Deepak Shandalya said that Shiv Sena Hind believes that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been striving to improve education, health, electricity, anti-corruption action, employment and many other public welfare sectors during his tenure. There may be differences about the works of any government, but campaigns that undermine the dignity of an individual weaken democratic culture.
Deepak Shandalya said that it seems that some political and social elements, angry with the growing popularity and development works of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, are trying to mislead the public by putting up such posters. The people of Punjab are intelligent and support the politics of development, peace and brotherhood.
He appealed to all political, religious and social organizations to prioritize peace, brotherhood and development in Punjab and refrain from doing anything that can create an atmosphere of hostility or tension in the society. Punjab needs development, unity and mutual respect, not conflict.
