Una, March 17 (Paigam-E-Jagat): The "Senior Citizen Facility and Interaction Room" was inaugurated by senior citizens themselves on Monday at Kalyan Bhawan. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster intergenerational bonding—that is, to strengthen mutual relationships across different generations.
Various amenities have been made available for senior citizens within this room; these include indoor games such as chess and carrom, as well as books, storybooks, novels, and other reading materials. The aim is to enable them to make productive use of their leisure time while simultaneously encouraging mutual interaction and dialogue.
Senior citizens participated enthusiastically in the event and shared their thoughts and perspectives through various activities. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in further strengthening mutual understanding and relationships between the elderly and the youth or children.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Welfare Officer addressed the senior citizens present, encouraging them to utilize this room during their leisure hours and to take full advantage of the available facilities to promote mutual dialogue and social engagement.
More than 70 senior citizens participated in the program and lauded this initiative.
