Hoshiarpur- Under the directions of the Punjab Government, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau organized a seminar under Vigilance Awareness Week dedicated to the birth anniversary of the country's Iron Man freedom fighter Vallabh Bhai Patel at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur.
On this occasion, SSP Harpreet Singh Mander Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range SP Major Singh Punjab Bureau Investigation, SDM Sanjeev Kumar and DSP Mandeep Singh Sekhon Vigilance Bureau specially participated.
College Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh shared the welcome words and inspired the students to be more knowledgeable by being a part of such events. SSP Harpreet Singh Mander gave information about the working methods of the Vigilance Bureau, the working acts regarding anti-corruption operations.
He said that this awareness week of the Vigilance Bureau is based on the theme of 'Everyone's Responsibility'. Under which all the residents of the society should provide all kinds of information about corrupt officials to the department under their responsibility.
He said that good, clean and transparent administration is possible only with the cooperation of the people and only with this can the foundation of a corruption-free society be laid. On this occasion, SP Major Singh called bribery a big curse for the society and said that to eliminate corruption and bribery, one can contact the toll free numbers issued by the department at any time.
He said that the main objective of this awareness week being celebrated by the Bureau from October 27 to November 2 is to create social consciousness. On the occasion, SDM Sanjeev Kumar called upon the students to build a good society and motivated them for all kinds of cooperation against corruption.
On this occasion, in the oath-taking ceremony held under the leadership of DSP Mandeep Singh Sekhon, the students took a pledge never to take bribes in their lives nor to get work done by giving bribes. On this occasion, Madam Sakshi Sharma Inspector Vigilance Bureau shared information with the students about the objectives and actions of the Vigilance Bureau.
The speakers were specially honored at the felicitation ceremony held under the leadership of Professor Apinder Singh, Secretary of the College Management Committee. On this occasion, Naib Tehsildar Ranbir Singh, Nagar Panchayat President Davinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Mugowal along with officers of various departments, college staff and students were present. Dr. JB Sekhon conducted the proceedings of the stage.
