Seminar Organized on World Womens Day
Hoshiarpur:- As per the directions of the Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr Mandeep Kamal, a seminar was organized on World Women’s Day with the joint collaboration of District De-addiction Rehabilitation Centre Hoshiarpur and the Women Cell of G.G.S.D College Haryana. The program was held under the leadership of college principal Rajeev Kumar and organized by Women Cell incharge Dr Hem Lata, Dr Shuchi Sharma, Sukhwinder Kaur and Dr Harvinder Kaur.
On this occasion, Deputy Medical Commissioner and Member Secretary of District De-addiction Rehabilitation Centre Hoshiarpur Dr Swati Sheemar attended as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Swati Sheemar said that men and women are equal, but God has made women mentally and emotionally stronger compared to men. She encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs. She also told the students that if they ever feel worried or troubled in any way, they can get counselling through the Tele Manas helpline.
On this occasion, counsellor Sandeep Kumari while addressing the gathering said that World Women’s Day started being celebrated across the world on 8 March. In India, this day is also observed in connection with the birth anniversary of Bharat Kokila Sarojini Naidu. She also provided detailed information about the Tele Manas app. She said that for any kind of counselling, people can call the helpline numbers 14416 and 1800-891-4416 to receive guidance. On this occasion, both boys and girls were motivated to stay away from drugs.
Tehrein Basra, Mental Health Fellowship, also shared detailed information about the Punjab Government’s Mission Yudh Nashian Virudh and explained the role of village volunteers involved in the campaign against drugs.
Madam Shiva also informed about the Punjab Government’s health insurance scheme of 10 lakh rupees. Poster making competitions were also organized for the students. In this competition, Manjot Kaur secured first position, Tanveer Kaur second position and Paranjal secured third position.
On this occasion, Dr Jasleen Kaur from District De-addiction Rehabilitation Centre Hoshiarpur, counsellor Prashant Adiya, counsellor Sandeep Kumari and others were present.
