Second Accused Arrested in Illegal Arms Trafficking Case

Karnal, May 26: The CIA-2 staff team of the Karnal District Police has achieved a significant breakthrough in an illegal arms trafficking case by successfully arresting a second accused individual. Acting on a tip-off and under the leadership of Assistant Sub-Inspector Vikas Kumar, the CIA-2 team arrested the accused, Rahul—son of Subhash Rana and a resident of Village Sabhli, District Karnal.
Providing details regarding this matter, the Investigating Officer stated that the first accused in this case—Simranjit Singh, son of Mohar Singh and a resident of Village Kheri Sarfali (Sadar Police Station jurisdiction), District Karnal—had already been arrested previously. A case (FIR No. 356), dated May 21, 2026, was registered against the accused under various sections of the Arms Act at the Sadar Police Station, Karnal.
The police team had lawfully arrested the accused, Simranjit, and produced him before the Honorable Court, from where a three-day police remand was secured. During the remand period, the accused was subjected to intensive interrogation. The investigation revealed that the accused, Simranjit, had procured the illegal weapon from his accomplice, Rahul.
Acting swiftly on the information obtained, the police team arrested the accused, Rahul, from near Chaman Garden on Railway Road. The accused was produced before the Honorable Court today and has been remanded to judicial custody.
